Message: the s-series is actually equipped and ready to accept rear discs with out having to buy a conversion kit.&#160; just remove the rear drum assembly entirely including the backing plates.&#160; then go to your local parts place and buy semi loaded calipers, pads and rotors.&#160; the only thing you will have to buy special is the caliper bolts.&#160; the mounting ears for them are already on the stock knuckle but they may have to be cleaned up with a wire wheel and a file.&#160; even the flex hose is a direct hook up to the caliper!&#160; Good luck

<description>Topic: New enthusiast

Message: Hi my name is TJ and I recently bought my wife a 95 saturn sc. I use to be big into modifying cars mainly honda's and mitsubishi's. So it was to my suprise to learn there where saturn tuners out there. So i figured I'd jump in and join this site to get some ideas for my wifes car. So far on my list of future mods are the usual, Cold air intake, performance clutch, short throw shift, exhaust, so on and so forth. But my big winter project is doing a rear disc conversion. Anyone got any tips or words of wisdom?

<description>Topic: My 97 saturn SC2

Message: if i were you i'd trade yours for a sc2 with a manual tranny. Converting trannys is a huge pain in the ass but if you have the time, money, and patience then what you should do is buy a manual tranny from a 97 sc2, take out your engine and take off the automatic. You'll have to install a clutch and the clutch cables, take out the shifter column from your old automatic tranny, which you'll have to cut out a &#34;custom&#34; hole in the driver's side floor but before that you'll have to put in a new brake pedal cause the original one is too wide. There's more to it than that but i hope this'll give you an idea of what you'll have to do.

<description>Topic: My 97 saturn SC2

Message: Hey ya'll,just signed up here cause thinking about starting to work on my 97 Saturn SC2 wanted to find out from some of you that have been working on your cars kind of what i'm getting into. I just replaced the engine with a stock one due to the fact that the old one was burning oil when i bought it and i think i burnt a piston in it. it is an automatic but i would like to find out how difficult it would be to change it over to manual. I know it can be done and i know i have a load of work cut out for me but just was wonderin what should be the first thing i look at doing on it and all.
